The three Finnish Sweco companies under one roof in Helsinki

Sweco Paatela Architects has moved to Sweco head office in Helsinki. Now all three Finnish Sweco companies that resided in three cities of the Helsinki metropolitan area just 2 years ago, have one by one completed their removal headquarters in the same building.

Sweco Paatela Architects specializes in master planning and architectural planning for healthcare sector, describes managing director Laherma.

Sweco PM holds an established position in project management services, whereas Sweco Industry’s field of expertise stands in engineering, consulting and project management services for industrial customers.

Paatela’s Swedish parent company, Sweco Architects AB sees potential for growth and expanding the service range. This is where opportunities for cooperation and synergy with the Finnish sister company Sweco PM rise.

- Being settled effectively in one building certainly promotes possibilities for cooperation, portrays Laherma.

Even as a newcomer in the area, Sweco Paatela Architects takes part in developing the Pitäjänmäki industrial district in cooperation with organizations and parties represented in the area. The aim is to find attractive characteristics of the area, create an economic climate for further development as well as to promote joint activities companies and residents.

- Today, the architecture in the area lacks harmony. We are there to present views on how it could look in the future. In this project, we are happy to work together with Sweco PM, states Laherma.

While the engagement to the new office location and efforts in developing the area is important to the Sweco Paatela Architects, the main focus of the company remains within health care architecture. Industrial architecture is an interesting field of activity, partly for its cooperation possibilities with Sweco Industry, but also due to the demands for industrial facilities. Quite like the buildings designed for healthcare, operations and processes taking place inside the buildings set much of their requirements.

Sweco PM has been involved in reconstructing of senior apartments, which was also brought up in the conversations.
