Technical Client IT Specialist, EIS Software

We are looking for a

Technical Client IT Specialist, EIS SOFTWARE

to join our Global EIS Software team at Sweco Group IT. The EIS Software Team consists of 10 people working passionately with engineering software within software configuration, license services and technical application analysis throughout Europe.

The EIS Software team is organized under the Engineering IT Solutions (EIS) business unit within Sweco IT. The team works in close conjunction with the other Sweco IT units as well as close to stakeholders within the business. In the team, we strive to have a holistic approach to the solutions we provide and is used to adapt to the specific situation within each country we provide support to.

Your role as a Client IT-Specialist will be a part of our newly created Application Analysis unit where you will be doing deeply technical analysis of application behavior within our infrastructure. Your areas of responsibility will include:

  • Technical program analysis in customer projects.
  • Identify and document new opportunities in our existing IT-Infrastructure and software in collaboration with stakeholders within IT.
  • General technical support on issues surrounding our engineering software.
  • Project lead on planned activities

You will be in Helsinki, Finland, but reporting to the EIS Software Teams Manager located in Malmö, Sweden. Some travel can be expected. Other locations in Finland could also be considered for the right candidate.

The keys to success for the role

We are looking for a person with a thorough knowledge and experience of advanced troubleshooting of client software for our position as IT-Specialist. We expect you to have at least 5 years of experience within the area of troubleshooting client software and have a good understanding of server and networking as well. Tools such as Process Monitor and/or Wireshark should be well understood and be a part of your natural toolbox. Your broad, relevant experience is more important than your formal education.
You’re a team player who thrives in a culturally diverse team. You should feel confident in writing and speaking with stakeholders from around the world in both Finnish and English. You will also require:

  • A deep understanding of Windows based operating systems.
  • A thorough understanding of it-networks and surrounding protocols.
  • A flexible and proactive mind-set
  • Structured and result driven approach
  • Ability to communicate and convey technical issues to a broad audience.
  • Experience with engineering software is meriting but not required
