Metropolia University of Applied Sciences operations will be centralised to replace the current 20 branches over four campuses. The new campus in Myllypuro will be a landmark visible from the Kehä I ringroad and the centre of Myllypuro. According to the design, the building will have 5–6 storeys. Construction will begin in the summer of 2016. The plan is to complete construction in the summer of 2019.
Designing of Metropolia new campus
The lot for the new Metropolia campus is located close to Myllypuro underground station. In the future, the area will be home to the Metropolia construction and real estate operations as well as social and health industry operations. The campus will be home to approximately 6,000 students and a staff of 500.
The facility solutions are based on efficiency, adaptability and a high usage rate. The gross building area of this enterprise is approximately 56,000 brm².
The Sweco commission consists of the HVAC, building automation and sprinkler system design of the future campus. Additionally, we will be in charge of condition simulations and energy technology design, with any necessary simulations. Our goal is to design an energy-efficient campus that offers the best possible indoor conditions for its users.
