Process safety
Ensuring process safety in industrial investments is an important part of managing overall safety. Process safety management is controlled by statutory requirements and various standards for planning areas. The overall management of process safety is a large entity, which, in addition to planning solutions, includes in-use management and change management during the whole life-cycle of the plant.
We deliver process safety solutions for various industrial processes, all the way from the traditional forest and chemical industry to the modern bio-economy and hydroeconomy. Our experts participate in large planning projects as persons in charge of HSE in order to ensure the adequacy of safety solutions in cooperation with various planning areas.
Risk assessments
A key to the implementation of successful planning solutions is a correctly timed risk assessment with the most appropriate method. We carry out risk assessments, depending on the plant project stage, using many different methods, such as HAZOP, HAZID, HAZSCAN, LOPA, and PSSR. The long and extensive experience of our technical safety experts in carrying out various risk assessments ensures quality and systematic risk assessments.
Consequence analysis and incident modelling
Our experts study the effects of explosion pressure and fire heat radiation in plant areas. Based on the results of the consequence analysis, the safe placement of the plant is ensured. Risk assessment results can be supplemented with various consequence analyses of explosion and fire incidents. We use the Phast modelling software, for example.
Explosive facilities (ATEX)
The recognition of explosion hazards and the rating of explosive facilities are actions required by law to ensure the safety of dangerous chemical processing plants. We will help you to prepare and update facility ratings and assess explosion hazards. We also prepare explosion protection documents.
We ensure explosion safety also in hydroeconomy plants, which are not affected by any national or EU-level legislation. We take part in the development of industry-related methods of action in the Hydrogen Cluster safety team.
Process safety management
Process safety management (PSM) supports the overall management of the safety and changes related to the plant. There is no standardised management or control system for the process safety of industrial plants. To help management, our experts prepare, together with the customer, process safety standards for individual factories, which help determine how the technical safety of the plant is managed now and in change situations. We help choose the best practices for the whole life-cycle of the plant.
An important part of the process safety management is incident investigation. We offer experienced experts for incident investigation. Root Cause Analysis, for example, is used in incident investigation.
