A resilient city is therefore not only about preparing for climate extremes, but also about the ability to adapt to economic and social change.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Landscape architecture at the heart of the urban environment<\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Landscape architecture<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">is a key element in building a resilient city. According to Head of Landscape Architecture, <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Tiina Per\u00e4l\u00e4<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, understanding <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">natural processes<\/span><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"none\">has become central to design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cPreviously, urban nature was often heavily modified to meet human needs. If green infrastructure is planned only after zoning, there is often not enough space.
