Cost control service Active facilitates real-time cost management<\/h1>\n

We combine the long experience and market knowledge of a cost accountant with digital simulation and calculation services and knowledge of project-specific design solutions.<\/p>\n

Realistic starting budget<\/h2>\n

The need for active cost control is emphasised in a global world where material and energy prices can fluctuate drastically within weeks. There are also new and at the same time unexpected challenges in the availability of many products, which can only be prepared for with in-depth market knowledge.<\/p>\n

It is important for the initial budget of the construction project to be realistic. We help to take into account all cost-inducing factors already in project planning. For example, wood, concrete and steel construction must be compared with up-to-date prices and delivery schedules. In this case, the cost estimate is not based only on rough magnitude data.<\/p>\n

Changes in costs must also be reacted to quickly during planning. If the situation is only revealed at a certain checkpoint, a lot of unnecessary work has been done. We make costs a visible design criterion, so that all planning is guided from the point of view of costs.<\/p>\n

Support for designers in cost impact assessment<\/h2>\n

As part of our Active service, cost control can be integrated as an integral part of planning. This makes sense because the same initial data serves, for example, project cost control, structural and building services design, and carbon footprint calculations.<\/p>\n

Active communication between the cost expert and designers is at the core of the Active service. Our expert is well informed about the design solutions of the site, easy to reach and ready to quickly explain the cost impacts of different options.<\/p>\n

In this way, together with the designers, we ensure that functional and cost-effective solutions are selected for the project, not overly expensive alternatives. For example, the foundation method, frame solution or HVAC technology accounts for a large slice of the total cost. We also aim to add quantity and cost information to design programs, making it as easy as possible for designers to find the most advantageous options for the whole.<\/p>\n

Easy access to cost risks<\/h2>\n

Many of our experts have 25 years of experience in cost accounting for industrial, building construction and infrastructure projects. In addition to benchmark data, we utilise reliable digital tools, such as alternative calculations and scope, quantity and cost analyses. The spill-over effects of prices arising from, for example, the feasibility of different solutions, the matching of different types of technology and the need for additional work are also taken into account.<\/p>\n

In addition, we use Monte Carlo simulation, <\/strong>which indicates the probability and risks of success of the cost estimate. Simulation increases understanding of uncertainties in cost estimates, such as the reliability of quantity data.<\/p>\n

The goal of our Active service is to increase the awareness of the entire project team about what the costs consist of. We use visual Snapshot and Power BI tools to present KPIs in an easy-to-understand format. The snapshot shows the entire cost path, not just the cost estimates of the checkpoints, which means that the costs are established and the costs are controlled in real time.<\/p>\n
