Sweco participates in the pre-engineering of Mets\u00e4 Group’s textile fibre mill<\/span><\/b><\/h1>\n

Mets\u00e4 Group’s Kuura project aims at the commercial production of textile fibres. Kuura textile fibre is produced from softwood pulp.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sweco acts as a design partner in the pre-engineering and is also responsible for coordinating the design of equipment suppliers. Sweco’s tasks include preparing an investment cost estimate and producing sufficient information for the final investment decision. Pre-engineering will last until 2026. Sweco has previously been involved in the design and implementation of the Kuura pilot mill and was involved in the design of the \u00c4\u00e4nenkoski bioproduct mill.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Based on our previous experience, we have strong confidence in Sweco’s expertise. It is natural to continue the cooperation on the important Kuura project,” says <\/span>Jari-Pekka Johansson, <\/span><\/b>Project Director at Mets\u00e4 Spring<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“It is great to continue our excellent cooperation with Mets\u00e4 Group. We were involved in the design of the pilot plant for the Kuura project, and this pre-engineering phase is a new milestone towards a new way of producing textile fibre,” says <\/span>Tuomas Salminen<\/span><\/b>, Division Director, Industry and Energy at Sweco.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
