Aurinkokivi \u2013 a diverse meeting place<\/h1>\n

The Aurinkokivi Service Centre will become a diverse service building in Kivist\u00f6, Vantaa. Sweco acted as the building information modelling coordinator of this awarded project and provided the humidity control expert services.<\/p>\n

The Aurinkokivi Service Centre will become a diverse service building in Kivist\u00f6, Vantaa. Aurinkokivi will be the largest new construction project of the City of Vantaa during the next few years, and it will be carried out in two phases. The first phase of the project will be completed in 2016. The building will house a school, a day care centre and a maternity and children\u2019s health clinic. The building will also be utilised by a music institute and an art school. The plan is to also build premises for an upper stage of comprehensive school in connection to the building, which will later offer school premises for around 400 pupils.<\/p>\n

Yards and plazas of various sizes will be built around Aurinkokivi, and their purposes are defined based on the user groups. A plaza will be built in front of the main entrance, which is supposed to become a shared meeting place for all Kivist\u00f6 residents.<\/p>\n

Sweco provides the project with on-site humidity control expert services during the construction work. The work contains the building physics risk assessment and improvement suggestions of the worksite\u2019s plans as well as compiling a humidity control plan, humidity technical supervision and humidity measurements.<\/p>\n

Aurinkokivi is also a pilot project for the City of Vantaa\u2019s Premises Centre, where Sweco acted as the building information model expert and coordinator. The building information model was used diversely in the various stages of the project and it was used to facilitate close cooperation between the different project parties.<\/p>\n
