Approaching carbon neutrality – Wood-structured Lidl designed by Sweco to open in Riihimäki
More timber, less carbon dioxide emissions. Lidl is introducing a wood-structured store already piloted in Sweden in Finland. Lidl is building the first Finnish wood-structured Lidl store in Riihimäki. Sweco is responsible for the integrated planning of the store building. The City of Imatra is setting an example of promoting low carbon emissions in public buildings. Sweco conducted a carbon footprint survey on the new sports hall of the City of Imatra. In connection with the survey, a new construction concept was created to be openly shared in order to promote low-carbon construction in Finland. Read more
Bio gas from manure – Filling station opened in Haapavesi
Nowadays, the Valio milk float visiting the Vuorenmaa farm also fills up on biogas at the filling station in the farmyard. Sweco served as a cooperation partner for agricultural expert Demeca, the supplier of the filling station to the farm in the project. Read more
