Loiste Lämpö’s new production entity based on waste heat in the implementation phase – Sweco continues as a project partner

In the future, district heating in Kajaani will mainly be produced with heat pump, electric boiler and energy storage solutions. The goal is to have production up and running in 2026. The new production entity will mainly operate using the waste heat of the data center. Heat pump plants will be scalable, which means that capacity can be increased in stages as the computing power of the data centers increases. Sweco has carried out the preparatory basic design of the new plants, and during the implementation phase, Sweco will act as the EPCM consultant for the project, responsible for project management, design, procurement, construction management, site management and commissioning.
