Sweco Finland Q1 2026: Growth continued driven by acquisitions

April 28, 2026

Today, Sweco published its interim report for the first quarter of 2026. Sweco Finland’s growth continued driven by acquisitions. During the first quarter, the planned efficiency improvement measures were also implemented to ensure competitiveness.

Sweco Finland’s net sales for the first quarter increased by 14.4% to EUR 94.1 million, driven by acquisitions. EBITA was EUR 5.2 million, impacted by negative project adjustments as well as restructuring and integration costs. Net sales, excluding the impact of acquisitions, were at the previous year’s level.

“At the beginning of June, the merger of Fimpec companies and the landscape architecture firm Näkymä with Sweco will be completed, and a new, even stronger organisation will start operations. With the new organisation, we will be able to offer our clients an even wider range of expertise to support them in a constantly changing operating environment,” says Thomas Hietto, CEO of Sweco Finland.

During the first quarter, Sweco Finland won and promoted several significant projects.

Sweco has been appointed by a real estate investment company Vantaan Valo Ky to deliver project and construction management services for the Jumbo 2029 development programme. Jumbo is one of the country’s largest shopping centres and is being upgraded to accommodate new customer flows linked to the Vantaa tram line and its transformation into an urban centre. Sweco provides project and cost management and site supervision, alongside ongoing structural engineering and sustainability consultancy. The project runs from April 2026 to 2029.

Sweco has been a long-term EPCM partner for the energy company Loiste Lämpö in the electrification and renewal of district heating production in Kajaani. The new production entity is based on heat pump technology and electric boilers, which will reduce the need for fossil fuels, and it will mainly utilise waste heat from the data centre. The project has reached a significant stage in the transition to the start of waste heat recovery.
