Approaching carbon neutrality – Wood-structured Lidl designed by Sweco to open in Riihimäki
More timber, less carbon dioxide emissions. Lidl is introducing a wood-structured store already piloted in Sweden in Finland. Lidl is building the first Finnish wood-structured Lidl store in Riihimäki. Sweco is responsible for the integrated planning of the store building. The grand opening on Kulmalan puistokatu is scheduled for late 2021. Read more

District heating company Varkauden Aluelämpö is planning a district heat storage investment that is unique at the national level. The idea is to store district heat in rock using heat pump technology. Sweco is responsible for the challenging preliminary design of this timely project. Read more
