Online webinar: Managing transboundary climate risks: From shared risks to joint preparedness – Nordic Climate Adaptation Seminar Series

Climate change impacts increasingly across national borders, affecting shared ecosystems, infrastructure systems, supply chains, and economic activities across the Nordic region. Managing these transboundary and cascading risks requires stronger coordination, shared knowledge, and practical collaboration across countries and sectors.

This webinar focuses on challenges that the Nordic countries have identified and examples on how transboundary climate risks are taken into preparedness considerations — and how this experience can be scaled, shared, and strengthened.

Date: 10 December 2026, 10:00-15:00 CET (program of about 3-3,5 hours, including lunch break, TBC)
Format: Online webinar, register here

Nordic Climate Adaptation Programme (NCAP) in collaboration with Sweco

Sweco is leading designing and implementing a series of seminars that provide a dedicated forum for Nordic stakeholders to jointly address complex and cross-cutting adaptation challenges, share experiences and best practices, and strengthen mutual understanding across sectors and governance levels.

The Nordic Climate Adaptation Programme (NCAP) 2025–2027, under the Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM) aims to strengthen climate change adaptation efforts across the Nordic region, by establishing a platform for cooperation, enhance knowledge exchange and produce strategic policy advice. The programme is grounded in the Nordic countries’ shared ambition to enhance resilience and sustainability in response to climate change and biodiversity loss. Within this framework, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency has initiated a procurement for a series of seminars and/or workshops to support the program’s goal of strengthening co-operation on climate adaptation by establishing fora for facilitated dialogue, knowledge sharing, and networking across the Nordic region.
