Sweco awarded Gold in the EcoVadis sustainability rating
Published: 28 May 2026
Sweco Finland has updated its international EcoVadis sustainability rating, which assesses the responsibility of a company’s own operations. In the assessment, Sweco achieved a Gold-level rating and placed among the top five percent of all evaluated companies.
“Moving from Silver to Gold above all demonstrates that we have systematically developed the sustainability of our procurement. We have engaged in active dialogue with actors across the value chain regarding our sustainability requirements at all levels. In addition, we have refined our procurement processes and strengthened supplier management so that we are better able to identify risks and development areas within our supply chain. A responsible and transparent supply chain also strengthens the resilience of our own operations,” says Iida Vakkuri, CSO at Sweco.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading sustainability assessment systems. It evaluates companies’ sustainability practices comprehensively, including environmental and climate responsibility, human and labour rights, ethical business practices, as well as responsible procurement and transparency.
The EcoVadis assessment methodology is based on internationally recognised corporate responsibility reporting frameworks, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the UN Global Compact, and the ISO 26000 standard. The assessment is valid for one year. Sweco Finland participated in the EcoVadis assessment for the first time at the end of 2023.
