Tampere Tramway
Sweco contributed to the planning and implementation of the Tampere Tramway as part of the Tramway Alliance, which brought together the expertise of the city, contractors, and designers. Sweco’s role included track, street, and systems design, as well as the coordination of technical solutions within a dense urban environment.
Tampere City Office building
Sweco participated in the refurbishment and extension of the Tampere City Office Building, known as the White House, where the protected 1960s building was transformed into a modern multi-purpose office for more than 900 employees. Sweco’s scope included structural engineering as well as surveying and existing conditions modelling for this demanding renovation project. The project successfully combined the building’s original architectural values with the requirements of a modern and flexible working environment.
Tampere passenger rail yard
Sweco is involved in the planning of the Tampere Passenger Rail Yard as part of an alliance project developing one of Finland’s busiest rail transport hubs. The work includes architectural and infrastructure design for the rail yard, platforms, and railway bridges, as well as solutions related to signalling systems and railway engineering infrastructure.
